The
Loft Gallery is hosting "From Oquossoc to Occoquan: an
Artist’s Journey"
Featuring original paintings and drawings by
award-winning artist Kathleen Best Gillmann
The exhibit includes landscapes and waterscapes
extending from Oquossoc, Maine, to Occoquan, Virginia, with
a detour to Minnesota's Lake Superior.
As an outdoor enthusiast and Maine native, Ms.
Gillman interprets nature in its many moods, the
mercurial qualities of water, the subtle and vibrant
textures of foliage, and the effects of atmosphere,
sunlight and weather.
For three consecutive years, her dramatic landscapes
have juried into the Art League’s annual International Scapes Show, winning an honorable mention
for her most recent submission, "Beach Houses at Lord’s
Point."
